Tasting notes

The first tastings reveal a rich and balanced Tertre Blanc 2022 with good acidity. Fresh, floral aromatics and white fruits come from the Sauvignon Blanc and the Viognier. The palate is full, flavourful and delicate, characteristic of the Chardonnay. The harmony of the blend is accentuated by the vivacity of the Gros Manseng.

Vineyard

Vineyard size: 3,80 hectares for the white.
Soil composition: Garonnais gravel and glaciated sand.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Partial alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats. Completion in Burgundy barrels (228L) and demi-muids (500L).
Maceration technique: 6 months. Maturation on fine lees. Stirring once a week.
Aging: Barrel
70% new barrels, 30% one year old barrels.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

First established in the 18th century by Irish négociant Pierre Mitchell, who also founded the first glassworks in Bordeaux, the estate was sold to Eric Albada Jelgersma in 1997. Jelgersma has since worked hard to improve the elegant estate.
