Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Originally named Château Brane-Mouton, changed in 1853 to Château Mouton-Rothschild by Nathaniel de Rothschild. Gaining momentum under Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who took over management in 1922, the first to insist that the wine be bottled at the estate, which is now common practice. The tradition of having a famous artist design the vintage’s label begin in 1945, making Mouton labels collectible. Elevated to first growth status in 1973. Managed by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild until 2014, her children manage the estate today.
