Tasting notes

With a forward and intense aromatic profile with lemon peel, spice, and dried apricots and bergamot. A lasting impression that lingers on the palate, with a very rich finish.

Soil composition: Gravel with sandy clay subsoil.

Fermentation container: Barrel fermentation.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Named after Léonard de Suduiraut after his marriage in 1580 to Nicole d’Allard. The Château was burned down before being re-built in the XVII century. After having given a coat of arms featuring the Suduiraut and Ducoy cartouche. The estate was planted with formal gardens designed by Le Nôtre. Purchased by AXA Millésimes in 1992 has revived the estate to fulfil its potential in recent years.

Environmental practices

Certified HVE3 recently, the estate implements environmentally-friendly agriculture, in compliance with the specification for the High Environmental Value specifications. The certification is based on 4 axes: Biodiversity preservation, phytosanitary strategy, fertilization management as well as water management.
