Tasting notes

On the nose, Saint-Pierre 2020 opens with a slightly wild and closed character, before releasing its fruitiness upon aeration, with notes of redcurrant, plum, and blackcurrant tinged with spices and menthol. The palate is fresh and dynamic, carried by fine, precise tannins and beautiful bitterness on the finish. An energetic Saint-Julien with plenty of potential.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

In the 1760s, Baron Jean-Baptiste de Saint-Pierre acquires and renames the estate Château Saint-Pierre. Only in 1923 are the majority of vineyards and the two brands Château Saint-Pierre Bontemps-Dubarry and Château Saint-Pierre Sevaistre reunited under the ownership of Belgian negociants Charles and Pierre Van den Bussche. Henri Martin, son of a barrel-maker in the heart of Saint-Julien, dreams of one day owning a classified estate. He bought the estate in 1982. Passed down to his daughter in 2024, the estate is today led by his children and grandchildren, the Triaud family.
