Tasting notes

Deep purple colour, with deep and brilliant reflections. Very expressive on the nose with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and Morello cherry mixed with notes of liquorice and violet. Great elegance on the palate, with a fine tannic framework supported by nice freshness, giving a wine of remarkable depth and persistence on the palate. A great wine that will go on for decades.

Vineyard

Vineyard size: 90 hectares
Soil composition: Pyrenean clay gravel from the late Pliocene and early Quaternary periods.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Wooden vats with temperature control.
Maceration technique: Vatting time 3 weeks.
Aging: Oak Barrels
18 months with 70% new barrels.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Named for Pope Clément V, who was previously known as Bertrand de Goth, innovating vineyard production, by beginning to plant the vines into rows which would marking a facilitation for vineyard operations and harvests for many years to come. Purchased by Bernard Magrez, continuing to improve winemaking practices for the benefit of this Graves great growth.
