Tasting notes

Deep, brilliant color. The nose is complex, with intense aromas of raspberry, blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry. with floral and mineral notes. The powerful, well-balanced structure reveals the purity of the fruit. The ample, elegant palate is marked by persistent, juicy fruit and soft, mellow tannins.

Soil composition: Mixed gravel with a sandy-clay subsoil.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Stainless steel vats with temperature control.
Maceration technique: Vatting time 20-25 days.
Aging: Oak barrels

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Founded in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin, the Château was later classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. In 1896, the Charmolüe family made significant investments. In 2006, the estate was purchased by Martin and Olivier Bouygues.
