Tasting notes

Dense purple color. Complex nose: leather, black fruits, brown tobacco. Fresh, silky palate: dark chocolate, cocoa, blackberries, blackcurrants. Lovely wine, clean, classic, greedy, elegant, complex, open. Fine, elegant, mellow tannins.

Soil composition: Mixed gravel with a sandy-clay subsoil.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Stainless steel vats with temperature control.
Maceration technique: Vatting time 20-25 days.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Founded in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin, the Château was later classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. In 1896, the Charmolüe family made significant investments. In 2006, the estate was purchased by Martin and Olivier Bouygues.
