Tasting notes

An exceptional vintage, as well as a first vintage having chosen to use a greater percentage of new oak, but an exceptional vintage with exceptional fruit flavoring, the choice to add dimension of flavoring. An exceptional potential for aging. Full-bodied with a great depth of flavoring.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

The first mentions of the Bages lands date to the 16th century, then in 1750, the Lynch family became the owners before Jean-Charles Cazes purchased the estate in 1929. Each generation after which has championed the estate, Jean-Michel Cazes added a more modern vat room, storage cellars. Jean-Charles would take over the estate in 2007, beginning by mapping out the terroir of the estate. A second renovation of the cellars was completed in 2022.

Environmental practices

Taking care to apply sustainability viticultural methods in a variety of ways from geolocated fertilization, controlled weeding to regular vigor, prolonged rest periods for fallow land and using environmentally friendly products. In 2018, the vineyard obtained the High Environmental Value certification, covering four key areas: biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, fertilizer management, and water management.
