Tasting notes

A good vintage that started off with a wet spring, however the second half turned out to be dry and sunny, ripening the grapes and adding great complexity to the harvest. A ruby-red color with blackcurrant, mocha, and cedar with tobacco. With a rich texture and graceful tannins, a mouthfeel that lingers with ripe flavors.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

The first mentions of the Bages lands date to the 16th century, then in 1750, the Lynch family became the owners before Jean-Charles Cazes purchased the estate in 1929. Each generation after which has championed the estate, Jean-Michel Cazes added a more modern vat room, storage cellars. Jean-Charles would take over the estate in 2007, beginning by mapping out the terroir of the estate. A second renovation of the cellars was completed in 2022.
