Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion benefits from a unique location, as it is one of the rare Bordeaux estates situated among an urban backdrop. Originally belonging to the Carmelite religious order from 1584 to 1789 before being purchased by the Chantecaille family. In 2010, the estate was acquired by the Pichet group, who proceeded to renovate extensively the estate, including the vineyard and adding a winemaking cellar designed by Philippe Starck with cutting edge features.

Environmental practices

A special attention to the nature’s delicate balance. Using a tandem pair of horses to delicately work the soil in a respectful manner. Seeking to rebalance the blend by increasing the amount of Cabernet Franc planted on the estate.
