HISTORY

Originally part of a larger estate belonging to Arnaud de Lestonnac, before being acquired by Pères Lazaristes in 1540, the congregation of priests would develop the vineyards significantly. The name « La Mission » was added during the time the Lazarists priests operated the estate. Confiscated by the state during the French Revolution before being purchased in 1821 by Martial-Victor Vaillant. The estate was purchased by Domaine Clarence Dillon in 1983, managed alongside Château Haut-Brion.

Beautiful, intense red color.The wine’s initial fruity nose is both ripe and fresh.With swirling, a lovely vanilla woodiness enhances the cherry and blackberry aromas.The wine enters the mouth with the charm of Merlot, fleshy and fruity,The tannic power is expressed, coated and fresh. Of medium length, the finish is spicy.

The nose is clean, complex and aromatically intense, with blackberry, blackcurrant and spicy notes. On the palate, an imposing, rich tannic structure blends harmoniously with a smooth body. A long persistence completes this beautiful balance.

A beautiful pale yellow colour. The nose of this Clarté is relatively aromatic and reveals a superbly distinct, clear-cut expression of Sauvignon, dominant in the blend. The first taste is full-bodied, flavoursome and lively all at the same time: Sémillon, unobtrusive on the nose, reveals itself on the palate giving a fruity, elegant sensation of softness. A marvellous impression of balance, despite average length on the palate.

A bold red color, with a persistent fruit-forward aromatic nose, opening up to reveal perfectly ripe red fruits. A breadth of flavors with great fruit. On the palate, revealing tannins with great volume and flavor.

A delicate yellow color, with a breadth of stone fruits, and an elegant lemon flavoring followed by delicate white flowers. On the palate, expressing juicy and fresh fruit flavors while finishing on ample and full bodied flavors.

With a record amount of rainfall, the quality terroir was able to absorb the excess water. With August being very warm, benefiting the harvest. A dense ruby color with balance and structured tannins.
