Tasting notes

A lovely crimson hue, with red fruits, that blend harmoniously with blackcurrants and blueberries. A refined, balanced profile that has a pleasant lingering flavoring of spice and pepper notes with a hint of orange peel on the finish.

Vineyard

Vineyard size: 80 hectares
Soil composition: Deep gravelly soil of the Plateau de Pibran rests on a clay-limestone base, giving the Château d’Armailhac wines their characteristic refinement and elegance.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Stainless steel vats with temperature control and gentle extraction.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Château D’Armailhac, first began in the 18th century when Dominique d’Armailhac bought vineyards in Pauillac. By the end of the 18th century, the estate had acquired 50 hectares of land. During the 20th century, the vineyard was sold to Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Since 2004, Philippe Dhallui has been in charge of the estate’s general and technical management.

Environmental practices

With a propagation nursery located at Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, the estate is able to carefully preserve massal selections that are direct descendants of the parcels of the Château d’Armailhac vineyard. A preservation of the genetic diversity and long-term sustainability for high-quality vines.
