Tasting notes

Retaining a deep red with edges that have a burnt orange tinge, maintaining it’s fruit aspects, with currant and a light flavoring of mint in addition to cedar aspects. Tannins that are very integrated with hints of spices to them.

Vineyard size: 41 hectares
Soil composition: Sandy gravel with clay-limestone.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Harvested by hand at optimum ripeness.
Maceration technique: Carefully monitored extraction phase.
Aging: Oak
18 months with 50% new barrels.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

In close proximity to the Garonne river, benefiting from the Mousset microclimate, Château Clerc Milon dates back to 1789. Acquired by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1970, and remaining in the hands of the same family, currently represented by Camille, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild.
