Tasting notes

Its deep, brilliant purple color reveals a complex, bewitching aromatic bouquet. Aromas of black fruits, cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants, spices and licorice, with a subtle touch of wood. On the palate, the wine is powerful and concentrated, with silky, elegant tannins, a velvety texture and a long, persistent finish. This remarkable wine offers a perfect balance between freshness, intensity and concentration, and promises remarkable evolution over several decades.

Soil composition: Sand-clay gravel with limestone subsoil.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Hand-picked with crates.
Maceration technique: Wooden vats for 35 days.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Purchased in 1971 by Count Joseph-Hubert von Neipperg, the estate passed to his son count Stephan von Neipperg. The estate was promoted to premier Grand Cru Classé status in the 2012 Saint-Emilion classification, cementing its reputation for producing exceptional Merlot and Cabernet Franc-based wines.
