Tasting notes

A deep ruby color with a complex aromatic structure, opening with cherry notes, nicely lifted fruits with good maturity. On the palate, giving ripeness of tannins with a certain roundness giving nice body.

Vineyard size: 31.8 hectares
Soil composition: Clay-limestone plateau with South/South-West exposure.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Oak vats with temperature control.
Maceration technique: 2 week vatting time with pumping over twice a day
Aging: Oak Barrels
19 months with 60% new barrels

Domaine

Château Canon, facing the Saint-Emilion bell tower. The surrounding vineyard, on the outstanding terroir atop a limestone plateau. Belonging to the Chanel group since 1996 and currently undergoing their organic conversion, to be finalized in 2024.
