Tasting notes

With a depth of color and purple reflections. An intense nose combining oak, spice, fruit and floral notes. The tannins give great elegance, with good concentration and chewiness.

Vineyard

Vineyard size: 72 hectares
Soil composition: Gravel based soil with a many small stones in the upper layers of the soil as well as a rich subsoil of clay and minerals.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Vinification in stainless steel vats and cement vats.
Maceration technique: Hand picked, vatting time – 3 weeks.
Aging: Oak barrels

Purchased by the Lurton family in 1922, Henry Lurton has managed the property since 1992. Baron de Brane is the second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac. Continuing to produce outstanding wines using updated technology and remaining faithful to the family’s traditional values to form the intrinsic identity of Brane-Cantenac.
