Tasting notes

The wine has a crimson tint. Spice and ripe fruit aromas mingle on the discreet and elegant nose. The attack is fresh, elegant and silky, underpinned by an attractive tannic structure, and the mid-palate very full, well-rounded and silky, leading into a long finish lifted by touches of liquorice.

Vineyard size: 95 hectares
Soil composition: Mixed gravel surface with a sandy sub-soil and clay.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Hand-picked and sorted with delicate extraction phase.
Maceration technique: 25 days maximum vatting time.
Aging: Oak Barrels

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Founded in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin, the Château was later classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. In 1896, the Charmolüe family made significant investments. In 2006, the estate was purchased by Martin and Olivier Bouygues.
