Tasting notes

A harmonious blending of both cabernet franc and merlot coming together with dynamic aromatic precision. A nose that opens with notes of currants, blackberry with a certain oakyness that blends well. The tannins complete the blending with their density and to complete this harmonious experience.

Vineyard

Vineyard size: 39 hectares
Soil composition: Quaternary alluvium from the Isle river with clay and gravel.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: With large berry size, the tanks were bled by 10% before the start of vinification.
Maceration technique: Vatting time between 13 to 23 days, 6% pressed wine.
Aging: Oak Barrels

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

An extensive history tracing back to the 15th century classified at Premier Grand Cru Classé A. Purchased jointly in 1998 by Albert Frère and Bernard Arnault, the buildings and cellars have been renovated while maintaining the exterior landscape. The estate is also listed as a UNESCO heritage site.
