Tasting notes

Deep garnet Robe. The nose reveals Blackcurrant and slightly liquorice, finely oaked aromas. Long, medium-bodied, with red fruit and a supple finish with ripe but precise tannins to the palate.

Vineyard size: 95 hectares
Soil composition: Mixed gravel with a sandy-clay subsoil.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Stainless steel vats with temperature control.
Maceration technique: Vatting time 20-25 days.
Aging: Oak barrels
18 months in 60% new oak barrels.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Founded in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin, the Château was later classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. In 1896, the Charmolüe family made significant investments. In 2006, the estate was purchased by Martin and Olivier Bouygues.
