Tasting notes

Dense and deep color. Nose still closed: red fruit, morello cherry. Long, full, powerful palate: Morello cherry, raspberry, strawberry, licorice. Good length, with a lovely mid-palate. Clean, taut tannins. Great, well-structured wine.

Vineyard size: 95 hectares
Soil composition: Mixed gravel with a sandy-clay subsoil.

Winemaking

Fermentation container: Stainless steel vats with temperature control.
Maceration technique: Vatting time 20-25 days.
Aging: Oak barrels

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Founded in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin, the Château was later classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification. In 1896, the Charmolüe family made significant investments. In 2006, the estate was purchased by Martin and Olivier Bouygues.
