Tasting notes

Balanced and attractive. With these two words, we can present Château Ferran 2022, a juicy, generous and very rich red wine. Blueberries, licorice, black fruits, chocolate, blackberry and pencil shavings emerge on the nose, giving way to a creamy, balanced and very attractive palate. The finish is long and penetrating.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Château Ferran has been planted with vines since Montesquieu owned it in the 18th century. In the late 90s, Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste took over the running of the vineyard, supporting the investments needed to revive this sleeping beauty. Since early 2018, Thibault Lacoste, 5th generation of the family, has taken over the management of Château Ferran, meaning there has been no change of ownership since 1880.

Environmental practices

The estate’s 70 ha are divided equally between vines, ancient forests and meadows for Limousin cows; They use manure for the vines when necessary and have lent part of the forest to a beekeeper for 20 years, as part of their contribution to biodiversity. They have held the HVE level 3 label since 2018 and reached level 4 in 2023.
