Château Marquis d'Alesme

3ème Grand Cru
Classé 1885

– Margaux –

HISTORY

Château Marquis d’Alesme was founded in 1585 by François d’Alesme, squire and adviser to King Henry III at the Bordeaux Parliament. This estate is one of the pioneers to be found in this appellation. A Dutch merchant, Jean Bekker-Teerlink, acquired the estate in 1810. He Germanised his name to Becker and added it to the name of the estate, giving rise to Marquis d’Alesme-Becker. In 1855, under the management of the Sznarjdeski family, the château’s wine was honoured as the 3rd Grand Cru Classé in the famous 1855 classification. Since 2006, the Perrodo family has owned Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker.
