HISTORY

Founded in the 17th century, the estate was eventually divided in two, Baron Raoul Pichon de Longueville’s portion became the Pichon Baron estate whereas the other portion become Pichon Comtesse, belonging to his three sisters. The estate buildings were added in 1851, inspired by Renaissance architecture with two emblematic stately turrets. Ranked deuxième cru classé in the 1855 classification. The estate was managed by the Bouteiller family before being purchased by AXA Millésimes in 1987.

A deep purple color with violet undertones. The nose is vibrant and expressive, showcasing ripe blackcurrants, delicate floral notes, and ripe cherries. Hints of dark chocolate, exotic spices, and licorice add complexity. On the palate, a dynamic, modern expression with superb structure, juicy sweet fruit, refined toasting, and remarkable depth and length.

A vintage that was marked by warm temperatures and drought, with an early bud burst, high sugar and low berry weight. A nose that layers charcoal, cigar, tobacco leaf with flint as well as a hint of salinity. On the palate, black cherries with chalk, layered and enjoyable.
