Tasting notes

The nose is dominated by violet and red fruit, with a distinguished woodiness.The full attack is followed by a structure on the palate that is both full and raffinate, with plenty of richness. The high-quality tannins offer no roughness. The length on the palate is impressive.

Fermentation container: Truncated-cone tanks, stainless steel tanks.
Maceration technique: 4 weeks on the skins for extraction.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Jean-François de Pontet, in the early 18th century, would bring together plots of land in the Pauillac area. His descendants add the vineyard to create the estate. Later classified as a 5ème Cru Classé. Later purchased by Herman Cruse in 1865. In 1975, Guy Tesseron would purchase the estate, currently managed by Alfred Tesseron along with Justine Tesseron.

Environmental practices

Starting in 2014, the first hectares were converted to biodynamic agriculture as a trial run. Shortly after the entire state was converted. In 2010, becoming organic certified and biodynamic. To avoid heavy compaction of the soils, the estate uses horses to work the soil as well as apply herbal treatments.
