Tasting notes

A sparkling, enticing nose of blackcurrant (fruit and leaf), chocolate ganache, hyacinth, Indian incense, and jasmine aromas. After a few minutes in the glass, it takes on hedonistic notes of mocha and chocolate truffle. On the palate, it is light and silky, with the salinity of soy sauce; it glides and winds its way through the mouth. This vintage represents Le Pin in all its sybaritic splendor. The rich, chocolatey, indulgent notes return on the finish.

Heritage in the vineyard

Domaine

Since 1924, what we know of as Chateau Le Pin had been the property of the Loubie family. The grapes were sold or blended to produce other fine, but undistinguished Pomerol wines until 1978. The wine took its name from the lone pine tree situated near the winery. Le Pin has been owned by Jacques Thienpont since 1979 and is produced in very small quantities.

Environmental practices

Chateau Le Pin, owned by Jacques Thienpont in Bordeaux, adopts sustainable viticulture practices that emphasize organic methods and natural pest management to reduce its environmental impact. Additionally, the estate prioritizes soil health and water conservation, ensuring that its winemaking process supports biodiversity and maintains a harmonious balance with the surrounding ecosystem by not employing weedkillers, fertilizers and the strict minimum of vine treatments.
